Senior SALE Season!

It’s Senior Sale Season!

(Don’t you just love alliteration? If you don’t know what alliteration is, you might want to stay in school a bit longer…)

$100 Senior Sessions!

We’re having a sale! Book your senior portrait session by May 31st and receive $50 off your sitting fee (normally $150), plus a FREE CD of your favorite 15 images!  That’s a whole heck of a lot for just a hundred bucks! (You’re SAVING more than you’re spending here, people. Trust me.  Moms love this kind of thing.)

Don’t get stuck with senior portraits that look like everyone else’s.  Unless you normally gaze lovingly at a rose while sitting over a mirror…why would you want a photo of that?!

Hurry, you must book your session by May 31st.

(But you can schedule your session for any time this summer, deadline August 31st)

(Cuz we’re giving like that.)

(And really, do you have anything better to do this summer? I thought not. Unless you’re one of those really busy people, but I’m sure you can still find ONE day in an entire summer for us to photograph you in all your awesomeness)

Ariel – Senior Session

Meet Ariel: a super hot senior I spent a sweltering afternoon with a few weeks ago. The girl make my job effortless:

Ariel and her mom came PREPARED! Enter an SUV set up like a celebrity dressing room, a truck full of props (a dog, a vintage bicycle and bags full of dance gear!), complete with Ariel’s sister along for the ride to help out!

Hot outside = HOT PHOTOS!

Not only does she take a stunning photo, Ariel is a ballerina. Like, a real life ballerina. Like, tu-tus, pointe shoes, the works. The three year old inside me is verrrrry jealous.

Cans For Comments!

There is a little movement going around the photography world called Cans For Comments, and we are more than happy to jump on the bandwagon!!  (Or CAN-wagon!  Bahaha.)

It’s simple. You comment. We donate a can or non-perishable item to a local food bank for every comment received. You make us feel warm, fuzzy and loved, and someone less fortunate gets to eat. Win-win, no? So comment long, comment short, comment often or only once…just do it! More and more we are hearing of food shelters coming up short this season. This is such a simple way to do a little for someone else! (Oh, and it’s going on for the next 7 days.)

Want to make an even bigger difference? Check out these other photographers who are also participating. (And why not continue to pay it forward and start this on your own blog–photographer or not?)

Caitlin

Senior season is in full swing! This time around it was my darling cousin Caitlin. She’s graduating this week from Timpview High School!! (Go T-Birds!)

She lives right near downtown Provo and how convenient, because it just happens to be one of my favorite places to shoot. A whole bunch of neat locations all within a few blocks? What more could you ask for! All of my favorite brick walls are within a five minute walk. I love it.

What’s a smokin’ senior session without a little grunge? She totally rocked it.

I almost had a heart attack when a flock of pigeons flew out of that stairwell! I don’t do well with those kind of surprises. Luckily, there were no casualties and we got straight back to shooting.

Ok, enough with the creepy, dark alley and back to safer territory.

Yeah, we totally have a love affair with this wall. We used it here and here and don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll be back again.

I loved her blue shirt against the red brick. It made her face just pop!

Then right across the street to the court building. We took advantage of the awesome columns and gorgeous natural light.

We finished up the day with a little studio action. Caitlin looked so hot in these headshots.

Look how her eyes just leap out at you!

Caitlin, you’re officially a graduate! (Well, in two days anyway.)

Lexie

Lexie and I spent a great morning together shooting her senior photos. I’m proud to announce she’ll be graduating from Orem High next month. (Go Tigers!)

When I asked her where she wanted her photos done, she said “I don’t care, whatever you want.”
Dangerous words, my dear. Muah-ha-ha. (Insert maniacal laughter.)
She pretty much gave me the freedom to do whatever I wanted with her. It might have been a little scary at times, but she survived. And I think her photos turned out dang good too.

We decided to hit up downtown Salt Lake City. If you’ll remember my favorite location of all time, you’ll know how excited I was to be shooting there again. If you guessed the Rio Grande train station, you would be correct.

The yummy natural light made her gorgeous eyes POP!

And, of course we had to have a little fun. The security guard was eyeing us, but I was confident we could outrun him if it came to that :)

Then we headed outside to City Hall. It was windy and chilly, but the sun was shining. Besides, the grass was such a bright green, we couldn’t pass it up.

Yeah. We were having a good time.

Sexy Lexie, I love these photos of your pretty face!

Last stop. We headed across the street to the City Library. We had to take advantage of the awesome architecture.

Who knew sweet, little Lexie could have so much attitude?!

We spotted this step outside the library and I thought it was pretty fitting.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Lexie, I love you to bits and had such a blast hanging out with you. Congratulations on graduating and I hope your post-high school life is amazing!

Hilary’s Senior Session

Hilary and I had a short and sweet session in downtown Provo. We started the day out in her ballet studio. I have lots of great dancing ones of her…but I love the mood of this one.

Then it was off to the courthouse for some gorgeous headshots. She has such perfect skin and sparkling eyes, I love it!

Canyon Fun: Senior Style

Marshall and I discovered a part of Provo canyon that I’ve never explored before. Right at the mouth there are so many cool spots! We hit that awesome bridge along the bike trail and found an old, falling apart, rusty building/substation/who knows what it was.
All I know was that it was made of awesome red brick, was covered with graffiti, and had neat signs like, DANGER: HIGH VOLTAGE.
He told me not to make him do anything girly, so I held back on the prancing and skipping and twirling. But despite those restrictions, I’m pretty sure I succeeded in turning him into the next GQ cover.
