Out Of The Office

Hey all,
It’s summertime and you know what that means, right? VACAY!!
Yup, we’re leaving tomorrow for lovely Lake Powell. A place without worries or stresses or internet service.
That means that, while we love you all dearly, we won’t be answering any emails or phone calls until we return on July 18th. So, if you have any questions or inquiries, please be patient. We’ll be sure to get back with you as soon as we get home!

OneLight Workshop

A few weeks ago (okay, like a month, we are behind in the blogging world) we attended the OneLight workshop with the incredibly talented and amazing Zack Arias.

We spend a long, tiring and INSPIRING 17 hours learning the ins and outs of proper lighting. It completely revolutionized the way we handle our lighting…both in studio and on-location.

Note: All following images are completely SOOC (straight out of camera). That means no photoshop, no tricks, what you see is what you get.

Check this out. The before image is natural light. The second is lit with flash. Amazing, no?

We learned so much…Zack is so legit its not even funny.

hello, beautiful light. I love you, even though you’re flash and I used to be afraid of you and not really understand how amazing you could make my images look.

We have already implemented our new lighting setup, and we are seeing an unbelievable change in our images. Stay tuned…we have some awesome stuff coming up!

[note]: Don’t forget about our Senior Sale, check it out below!

Senior SALE Season!

It’s Senior Sale Season!

(Don’t you just love alliteration? If you don’t know what alliteration is, you might want to stay in school a bit longer…)

$100 Senior Sessions!

We’re having a sale! Book your senior portrait session by May 31st and receive $50 off your sitting fee (normally $150), plus a FREE CD of your favorite 15 images!  That’s a whole heck of a lot for just a hundred bucks! (You’re SAVING more than you’re spending here, people. Trust me.  Moms love this kind of thing.)

Don’t get stuck with senior portraits that look like everyone else’s.  Unless you normally gaze lovingly at a rose while sitting over a mirror…why would you want a photo of that?!

Hurry, you must book your session by May 31st.

(But you can schedule your session for any time this summer, deadline August 31st)

(Cuz we’re giving like that.)

(And really, do you have anything better to do this summer? I thought not. Unless you’re one of those really busy people, but I’m sure you can still find ONE day in an entire summer for us to photograph you in all your awesomeness)

Miss Utah – The Final Night

Well…Kaitlin did not win Miss Utah. :(

But!  We are still so, so proud of her!!  She did such an amazing job representing American Fork.  She perfomed her talent flawlessly, looked gorgeous in her swimsuit and evening gown, and had a beautiful stage presence.  She did us all very proud.

Here’s a few photos of the final night:

Of course, a few more of her looking darling during their production number.

She figured out where we were sitting and could finally wave to US instead of the faceless crowd.

All the girls say goodbye to the current Miss Utah, Kayla Barclay.

Waiting for the results…

Um…I didn’t take any photos of the winners.  Oops.  Anyway, congratulations to the new Miss Utah, Whitney Merrifield!

Winner or not at least it’s all over!  Kaitlin breathes a sigh of relief with our pageant director extraordinaire, Staci!

And finally, Kaitlin with (almost) the whole committee!

Kaitlin, we are all so proud of you!  You have been such an excellent Miss American Fork and we all will be sorry to see you give up your crown at the end of July. :(   Whoever takes your place will have some big shoes to fill.

But, let’s not dwell on that.  Here’s to an awesome summer as we prepare for the next Miss American Fork Pageant.  Mark your calendars.  The big night is Saturday, August 1st at American Fork High School.

Kaitlin had another great night of preliminary competition!  She performed her talent last night, a lyrical dance.

She did an excellent job, we as a committee were very proud of her.

And one more cute shot of her in the production number. :)

Tonight Kait will be showing off her rockin bod in the swimsuit portion of the pageant!!

Miss Utah Preliminaries – Night 1

We will be spending all week at the Miss Utah Pageant with Kaitlin, and we know you all are dying to see how she is doing!

The theme this year is “Do you believe in magic?”  I’m loving the outfits…as I do love all things polka dot.

Last night she competed in the on-stage question and evening wear. Her question was “Which is more important, beauty or brains?” She answered it very well and explained why both were important.

Her evening gown was gawwwwwgeous. Midnight blue with a sequin belt…she totally rocked it.

Tonight she will be competing in the talent portion. She is performing a dance, we can’t wait to see! (and show you…tomorrow)
